New Year – New Website

Jan 18, 2022 | Web

A new year brings a great opportunity to go over your website and see if it’s time for a rebuild. But how do you know if your website needs some work or a complete overhaul? Take some time and go through your website with this list.

Signs your website needs an overhaul

Does your website respond to mobile devices?

If your website looks the same on a desktop as it does on a mobile device, it’s time for a new site! Search engines now penalize websites that do not adjust to smaller screens, so it is VERY important that your website be rebuilt.

Your website has a dated design or platform

If your website looks like it was built 10 years ago, it’s time to rebuild. Website design and development has advanced leaps and bounds in the past few years. If you are not keeping up with the times, customers might think you are no longer in business. Current photos and information are imperative for a website to do its job.

Your website is confusing or inaccurate

If you are constantly getting feedback from customers that your website says something different on it, or didn’t say anything about something important to your business it’s time to rebuild! A website is supposed to help inform your customers and cut down on phone questions or take away other steps so your business runs smoother and if it is not doing that, why pay for hosting? Get your website working for you, not against you!

Current but unorganized

If your website is current, but the content is all over the place, it’s time to rebuild. You might think it only needs to be cleaned up a little bit, but often this is a sign that the whole website needs to be rebuilt.

Signs your website needs a refresh

Updated branding

If you have recently updated branding, or redesigned any part of the business or organization, it’s time to update the website to reflect that update. You want your customers to know this is your website and company.

New owners

If the business has recently been acquired, it’s a good idea to go through the website and make sure the site reflects the goals of the new owners.

Frequently asked questions from customers

If you are getting feedback from customers or employees about a process or question that could be run or answered by your website, maybe it’s time to add that feature. Online bill pay, or an FAQ section can save you a lot of time.
